Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay is a building situated on the banks of the river six acres of land on the waterfront along Marina Bay near the mouth of the Singapore River. This place was built premises for the purpose of a performing arts center for the state of Singapore.


Esplanade contains world-class performing space, plus a variety of professional support services and facilities. In addition to doing the place, the Esplanade also contains a meeting place, as well as lifestyle and arts related services. The main highlights of the Esplanade - Concert Hall and Theatre, is connected to the main Concourse through the foyer, while the Esplanade Mall is accessed via the entry point located between the two spaces. And there is also a Concert Hall esplanade that about 1,600 seats and Theatre with a capacity of about 2,000 for the performing arts. The library is located on the third floor of the building. There are centers doing outdoor, and retail space and food at the Esplanade Mall. There is an open space outside the room on the fourth floor of the building, which is the highest point.

The place was officially opened on October 12, 2002, with a cost of about EUR 600 million. And on July 5, 2005, the opening ceremony of the 117th IOC Session staged at the Esplanade, featuring 30-minute long performance that aims to show multi-cultural heritage of Singapore for its international audience.
