Monkey Quest (Review)

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><b><a href="http://www.monkeyquest.com/en/index" target="_blank">Monkey Quest</a></b> is a cute and fun platform game where you enter the world of Ook as a monkey, in order to beat the many monsters that inhabit the jungle and help the citizens in the battle against evil. Monkey Quest is an adorable game, designed mostly for the younger audience though it’s cuteness and arcade-like cool game play will appeal to the older ones as well.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi22LhaJeWlBZwh7NvIHO1YTnKJ7gc2-NTQio_AiRwCws6jFaWSMCuOpMOVT_Y_uBgkMdsQAqZZ5vWc1ISRk94yqfjzfmJh1R4uFaTdWFTLjRPO_6pYDk_u3BRQ-LQx2J6ZiroL5gop1vVE/s1600/monkey-quest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="338" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi22LhaJeWlBZwh7NvIHO1YTnKJ7gc2-NTQio_AiRwCws6jFaWSMCuOpMOVT_Y_uBgkMdsQAqZZ5vWc1ISRk94yqfjzfmJh1R4uFaTdWFTLjRPO_6pYDk_u3BRQ-LQx2J6ZiroL5gop1vVE/s640/monkey-quest.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>The game is browser based so all that is needed is to click play, and you are instantly teleported to the land of Ook, a land divided after a great war in which the hero of the land disappeared after defeating the evil that threatened the monkey population. The land was then divided to regions by the companions of the hero, and ever since the land waits for the hero to return.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi882psFpNfDXQozOQEM2Fq9FMoW0jmk6IJuDkEo-dkLyk7AvGpg8JXXhvT5FYfPUqYsQbbuyU_HQ9W3RNqRZLR_Fhyphenhyphen4VgTkBlazVPXhgQDnWHFqvdNK2r5Q9-BUn3rzslElD6ACyk_aT2g/s1600/monkey_quest_create.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="486" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi882psFpNfDXQozOQEM2Fq9FMoW0jmk6IJuDkEo-dkLyk7AvGpg8JXXhvT5FYfPUqYsQbbuyU_HQ9W3RNqRZLR_Fhyphenhyphen4VgTkBlazVPXhgQDnWHFqvdNK2r5Q9-BUn3rzslElD6ACyk_aT2g/s640/monkey_quest_create.jpg" width="640" /></a><br /><div><br />Monkey Quest features many areas to discover, and a lot of gear to gather as well. The in-game currency is... bananas , which are mostly easily obtained. Areas except for the common ones are special for you and your party members only, so you have no need worrying about people killing your monsters and stealing your money and items. Re-entering an area will re-spawn the monsters, boxes and the bananas, allowing you to gain more experience and goods, and even receive rare and unique items. However you will gain less and less exp from monsters as you level so its best not to stay much in one location. Besides, there is a huge world out there to discover, right?<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYmgv_rgwL_cxTyeR9MzeUmN0gxr467K77tqac8NGVeDn3imEm5KFh2mJ6dYyEXXsxY1ofcKiptz-9aBhbP9hXsnlHv8sOfqjbKeNJbiTaKWjMaH0Rz_eRNjew0C_ASnovxfSpSl9wPAVl/s1600/monkey_quest_backpack.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="484" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYmgv_rgwL_cxTyeR9MzeUmN0gxr467K77tqac8NGVeDn3imEm5KFh2mJ6dYyEXXsxY1ofcKiptz-9aBhbP9hXsnlHv8sOfqjbKeNJbiTaKWjMaH0Rz_eRNjew0C_ASnovxfSpSl9wPAVl/s640/monkey_quest_backpack.jpg" width="640" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div>The party system is quite simple and friendly, the game features many areas you can enter with friends and uncover secrets and items. you can also create and join guilds, chat with nearby fellow monkey and of course trade with them.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlnNryJJynDTqWd8t5Zv4BOKu_NZKBZu2t_7dU2KJXM19FuTm6_joNTRNC8DQ6dCYivYZOG8sdJUiD9oD0Tr7byV0L0Uqm5OsB_oKGB8pXhPkaHNX8ev8vqsUQEUX03TZmIy-Znr8mUs6M/s1600/monkey_quest_map.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="488" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlnNryJJynDTqWd8t5Zv4BOKu_NZKBZu2t_7dU2KJXM19FuTm6_joNTRNC8DQ6dCYivYZOG8sdJUiD9oD0Tr7byV0L0Uqm5OsB_oKGB8pXhPkaHNX8ev8vqsUQEUX03TZmIy-Znr8mUs6M/s640/monkey_quest_map.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Monkey Quest is very quest oriented, there are many NPCs handing out quests, experience and items. Many quests are part of the big story line and will introduce you to the vast land and mechanics of the game.<br />Gaining levels is easy and rewarding, you cannot select how to increase your attributes (life, attack and defense) each level so the major improvements come your weapon and armor.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyFsySebTBaalpjf1nmkkT-ncbf_yuxdvE5_vuJQkY1-wwzkclWIHhkmNfxaXI1RZN5F3erlRTFakZQGkp1j3duAjPJFzGMp266UwkMlnGhAaBRgLqyazjn53rVzgYgrQEkFzy1RrRl8M8/s1600/monkey_quest_shop.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="484" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyFsySebTBaalpjf1nmkkT-ncbf_yuxdvE5_vuJQkY1-wwzkclWIHhkmNfxaXI1RZN5F3erlRTFakZQGkp1j3duAjPJFzGMp266UwkMlnGhAaBRgLqyazjn53rVzgYgrQEkFzy1RrRl8M8/s640/monkey_quest_shop.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Controls are simple and easy to learn and you have four hot keys, one for your melee weapon, one for your ranged weapon, and two you can utilize for food and consumables. The combat system is easy to use with fun and cool weapons while new items keeps coming out, allowing constant improvement and upgrading.<br />Monkey quest also features a crafting and alchemy system, merchants all over the world will sell you recipes and different crafting materials, which you can also obtain from monsters and special areas, so you can create your own potions and gear.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjri6kd7bDBunZ1_rR-IRLHhcXJ-kOz1D5H_I9ZjkpHu5txZs1-8gTNZcjMUXD9C3G9k4JCaulzGP8-OL4cExelVvvB4VEI03Ob27PRepWDt0WHSGpnxoPKANLX8cbrG_tooWzqtu0roZSQ/s1600/monkey-quest-level-up-screenshot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjri6kd7bDBunZ1_rR-IRLHhcXJ-kOz1D5H_I9ZjkpHu5txZs1-8gTNZcjMUXD9C3G9k4JCaulzGP8-OL4cExelVvvB4VEI03Ob27PRepWDt0WHSGpnxoPKANLX8cbrG_tooWzqtu0roZSQ/s640/monkey-quest-level-up-screenshot.jpg" width="640" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div>There are two types of currency in the game, the bananas will allow you to purchase many items with different rarities but you can also buy NC cash which gives you a wider selection and access to rarer equipment. But of course the best items will come from the boss monsters which roam the jungle. Beating them wont be easy and will require help, but you cant let them continue their reign of terror and fear over the jungle.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy3WS8-54mgiwGpJozz3zrXlPRQrcENOOXsWWcDZasZGvJsDzBRoA3szVUMA-T2hoP27WKxrIn_dMelbEycPT7qFa3SSewT1YnO3TDfel-hoEbY1sun4Hb32WWAGYuUqCL-o3yYdsoA_F1/s1600/monkeyQuest5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjy3WS8-54mgiwGpJozz3zrXlPRQrcENOOXsWWcDZasZGvJsDzBRoA3szVUMA-T2hoP27WKxrIn_dMelbEycPT7qFa3SSewT1YnO3TDfel-hoEbY1sun4Hb32WWAGYuUqCL-o3yYdsoA_F1/s640/monkeyQuest5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />The game encourages team play, having a close by party member will increase your banana multiplier and gaining more exp. Even if you don’t have a friend logged on, there is a button to actively look for a party and join them. You can also teleport yourself directly to a friend, saving the trouble of finding them.<br />For a web based game, the 3d graphics are quite good, the character design is cute and funny, every item you use has its own look and animation, the different regions are nicely crafted and are not repetitive.<br />The in game music doesn’t seem to get old and it’s jungle rhythm puts you the right mind set, allowing hours of online play without noticing the time passing by.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE0rPuWgXEmtTBCSxbhP-DmTbDNRewCn4224NKiB3iKJcA4fMfop89i3xYh2CQsHIFxzl6QDJyV_Oay5-CFFqebDodJELoZjo8pBrHb-a7qnRJX3AjWa_BA9jIpLD-aVGFoOelcL7OVwJb/s1600/monkeyquest+superhero-1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjE0rPuWgXEmtTBCSxbhP-DmTbDNRewCn4224NKiB3iKJcA4fMfop89i3xYh2CQsHIFxzl6QDJyV_Oay5-CFFqebDodJELoZjo8pBrHb-a7qnRJX3AjWa_BA9jIpLD-aVGFoOelcL7OVwJb/s640/monkeyquest+superhero-1280.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Monkey quest is a fun and amusing arcade game, with simple controls, great graphics and cool music, all combined to a cute and enjoyable game appealing to all ages. In MOBAs, players control one “hero” unit and duke it out on a game map which features three “lanes,” where each team is tasked with pushing to the opposite side of the map and destroying an opponent’s base.<br /><br />As DotA grew in popularity over the years, many MOBA games began sprouting up, including the hugely popular free-to-play League of Legends from Riot Games and DotA 2 from Valve. A typical game in most MOBA titles lasts for about an hour. That’s a fairly long gameplay session for a mobile game, which is why Sneaky Games decided to make Arena of Heroes turn-based, allowing users to pick up and play whenever they want.<br /><div><br /><div><img src="http://www.insidemobileapps.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/AoH-Gameplay.png" /><br /><br />“What we were trying to address with going turn-based and asynchronous is still give players that MOBA fix but without having the pressure of committing to an hour-long ,” Sneaky Games CEO David Godwin told us in an interview.<br /><br />What’s interesting about Arena of Heroes is that the game can also be played in real-time, where gameplay is still turn-based, but a user can play against another user live, with a three-minute timer for each user’s turn. Godwin adds that a game in Arena of Heroes averages about 25 to 45 minutes, but the developer’s goal is to get that number down to around 30 minutes.<br /><br />Although Arena of Heroes only allows for one-on-one multiplayer, the developer plans to add two-on-two and four-on-four post-launch. Each player in a one-on-one match controls four different heroes, where each hero can make three different actions — movements, attacks, or a combination of both. Minions, AI-controlled units that each team deploys to fight alongside their heroes, move on their own towards an opponent’s base.<br /><br />A traditional MOBA allows the user to move their hero around freely and emphasizes twitch-based gameplay, meaning a user must have a fast reaction time. This, in part, is what males MOBA games notoriously difficult to learn, and if a user doesn’t know how to play or doesn’t have another user to mentor them, more experienced players will pick on them. Arena of Heroes works around this issue by making the game turn-based, where games play out at a slower pace compared to a traditional real-time, twitch-based MOBA. The game also introduces users to the game by showing them a visual, slide-based tutorial. An interactive tutorial is coming at a later date, Godwin says.</div><div><br /></div><div><img src="http://www.insidemobileapps.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/ScreenShot1.jpg" /><br /><br />“We weren’t real convinced that twitched-based MOBAs are going to work on iPad or iPhone,” Godwin says. “It’s a hard thing to do.”<br /><br />Similarly to League of Legends, Arena of Heroes monetizes through selling additional heroes (two heroes come with Arena of Heroes for free) and alternative skins for the heroes. There are also two currencies — gems and coins. Gems are the premium currency and coins are the in-game currency earned through playing the game. Gems or coins can be used to purchase heroes, but only gems can be used to purchase hero skins.<br /><br />Sneaky Games plans to launch the game in the next couple of weeks for PC, Mac and iPad. They also plan to launch the game on Android, and they’re looking into Ouya.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: right;">Source: <a href="http://www.insidemobileapps.com/">insidemobileapps</a></div></div></div></div></div>

Call of Camelot (Review)

Uprising Empires (Review)

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><a href="http://www.uprisingempires.com/" target="_blank"><b>Uprising Empires</b></a> is an intricate browser based strategy game developed by Targa that allows you to build cities, raise armies, conquer and expand your territory while advancing through different ages in a cool medieval atmosphere.<br /><div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5GqfTiEqIPR8x-SSbrJspZMEBVvw2M59QMsTdggUFipXBrgwmLgmsjbxmlrQyoQQFxKfPJzf2HhPLVgwcedfLqNZ-qylYvM_qm6W2r1G1c1irJu91d5mdQCibfAAT42ShXMEjQzuIYcS0/s1600/Uprising+Empires+4.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5GqfTiEqIPR8x-SSbrJspZMEBVvw2M59QMsTdggUFipXBrgwmLgmsjbxmlrQyoQQFxKfPJzf2HhPLVgwcedfLqNZ-qylYvM_qm6W2r1G1c1irJu91d5mdQCibfAAT42ShXMEjQzuIYcS0/s640/Uprising+Empires+4.png" width="640" /></a><br /><br />As in other building strategy games, you start in a small undeveloped city and your goal is to improve and raise it into a dominant power in your region. However, in Uprising Empires there is a concept of ages, each will unlock new features such as buildings and units, similar to famous games like civilization, where you move in time once you reach a certain point and are granted access to new and stronger technologies. Uprising Empires still stays in it’s medieval setting though, so there are no huge changes in power like if you would have moved from stone to iron age which means everything transforms and you might get stuck with low tier units, but in Uprising Empires the units don’t change, you just get access to new ones as you advance in ages.<br /><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrTv-_7dyKyGsULYlxI8gMwKkyvkYS6nH8eVWVsfPRk27LKUiuK4y_P7L8hz3l14fK8YzS0iscYqPwcY7yFGEsYdqwMScRO-dS8qcMtRYTLnNSJcJCibWVD_pWk9Rgxu5Y8QeBtYQitgR7/s1600/Uprising+Empires+.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="408" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrTv-_7dyKyGsULYlxI8gMwKkyvkYS6nH8eVWVsfPRk27LKUiuK4y_P7L8hz3l14fK8YzS0iscYqPwcY7yFGEsYdqwMScRO-dS8qcMtRYTLnNSJcJCibWVD_pWk9Rgxu5Y8QeBtYQitgR7/s640/Uprising+Empires+.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Uprising Empires’ interface is pretty well designed and easy to use. You have access to several areas: The city map, where you can build the main buildings of your city; Resources field, where you can build up to four buildings of each of the four resources you can gather; Middle map which represent the area where your city is located and the world map which shows the entire world. There aren’t many buildings to build in Uprising Empires, except for the resources buildings each building can only be built once and will allow you to perform actions according to the building. Buildings can also be upgraded for extra bonuses and to unlock certain abilities, however the upgrade level is limited according to the age you are in. The same principal applies to research and technologies which are capped until you advance to the next age.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img height="344" src="http://www.mmosquare.com/sites/default/files/styles/mid_img/public/uprising%20empires%20650.jpg" width="640" /> </div><div><br /></div>Regarding resources gathering, it works rather slow than other games. Each upgrade gives just a small bonus to the overall production, so it might takes some time to raise the production high enough to support your upgrading and training needs. I found myself waiting for hours in order to collect enough resources to get the higher level upgrades. The limit of two upgrades at a time makes upgrading your resources field a bit tedious as there are 16 buildings you need to upgrade and the time for each increases drastically for the higher upgrades.</div><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfeP8iRJjqt8M2sji27hE6b42OVRH-PFXMU7jslODK7JFDNGqAzLGOMJtfIEArmcjd8yzBxkqDRrjxR6AgDE91ZSliAtHUZF0ZW5drShzET-YRZwc_08jMcOEta-JJ3OBVQDj-QQ6UbUeP/s1600/Uprising+Empires+1.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="404" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfeP8iRJjqt8M2sji27hE6b42OVRH-PFXMU7jslODK7JFDNGqAzLGOMJtfIEArmcjd8yzBxkqDRrjxR6AgDE91ZSliAtHUZF0ZW5drShzET-YRZwc_08jMcOEta-JJ3OBVQDj-QQ6UbUeP/s640/Uprising+Empires+1.png" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Except for the four resources you collect normally, you collect gold once per day from your town hall, the amount of gold you can collect increases with the city population and is used mainly for research. This is an important resource as research isn’t cheap and collecting gold requires logging every day to collect and building more cities and population. </div><div><br /></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLzjY4KgjPZIP8nZm5WdKzXGff3ATLdGIcEW66se39MLiqNkmrdv7YcBGBAEcfzIaQZDWPHD2ay9Qf62s00U5LY42fDLu_jhYORyquy1BOLyG4Qc6xOlCudJjFIa1E-i8wgoLRthCZEYSk/s1600/uprising-empires_3_tutorial.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="324" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLzjY4KgjPZIP8nZm5WdKzXGff3ATLdGIcEW66se39MLiqNkmrdv7YcBGBAEcfzIaQZDWPHD2ay9Qf62s00U5LY42fDLu_jhYORyquy1BOLyG4Qc6xOlCudJjFIa1E-i8wgoLRthCZEYSk/s640/uprising-empires_3_tutorial.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Advancing through the ages takes time as well, each age has it’s own requirements such as army size and population. While recruiting army units is easy and only requires resources, in order to increase your population you need to upgrade buildings and build more cities in which you can build more buildings and upgrade them. Even though the population, gold and global research are shared between cities, other resources are bound to each city, so whenever you build a new city you need to build it’s entire foundations and wait for your resources to pile up in order to keep upgrading and researching. All this makes Uprising Empires a very slow strategy game that requires a lot of attention as you build new cities from the ground, on the other hand, there is much to do once you get started and raising your cities has a great sense of accomplishment.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img height="344" src="http://www.mmosquare.com/sites/default/files/styles/mid_img/public/uprising%20empires%20650%202.jpg" width="640" /> </div><div><br /></div>Combat in Uprising Empires is pretty simple, you recruit heroes from the tavern and different types of soldiers from the barracks and archery range, form armies and send them to attack the many targets that are available in the middle map, either for resources or items, or to invade another player’s city, simply form an army with the right units and send them to battle. There are different heroes with different talents that will affect your units and will grant bonuses according to their station. Using a hero in combat will also grant him experience which raise his level and allow you to allocate stat points to increase his power and effectiveness. If you’re lucky, you might find items to equip your heroes for some extra bonuses.</div><div>  <br />Uprising Empires also features a quest system with city and daily quests which rewards you with some extra resources. There is an auction center, a forge where you can create items if you’re lucky, and of course, you can form an alliance with other players in order to conquer the world.</div><div><br />Uprising Empires is a good browser based strategy game with great and appealing graphics, it has a slow pace but once you get your cities rolling there are plenty of things to do. There is a nice variety of units to train and many different aspects to navigate through in order to raise your influence and become a powerful player. The different ages add a unique spin on a well known game-play, making it one of the more appealing games of the genre which provides endless hours of entertainment.<br /><div><br /></div><div style="text-align: right;">Source: <a href="http://www.mmosquare.com/" target="_blank">mmosquare</a></div></div></div></div>
